A Cabarrus County school bus appears to be swerving Monday morning on Irish Potato Road. School officials said no children were on the bus.

CONCORD — A woman was headed to work Monday morning when she got behind a Cabarrus County school bus that appeared to be swerving across lanes on a winding road.

Jennifer Cox took the video and posted it to her Facebook page.

Cox said the bus was swerving on Irish Potato Road around 7 a.m.

“I decided to record it so the school would have proof,” Cox said on her Facebook page. “I called to report the bus swerving and almost hitting a car.”

Cox said on her Facebook page that she tried calling the school district, but “they didn’t seem so concerned.”

“When I called, I got told they would transfer me, but to call back if no one answered, so I did. I called back, but a different person answered, and I told them what was going on, but they didn’t seem so concerned. All the lady said was OK then hung up,” Cox posted. “This is a Cabarrus County school bus. It was terrifying to watch as I am sure there were kids on this bus. It was 7:10 this morning on Irish Potato Road.”

School officials told the Independent Tribune that the bus in question is Bus No. 392, and that an investigation is ongoing.

School officials said there were no students aboard the bus.

Cabarrus County Schools sent the Independent Tribune this statement:

“Cabarrus County Schools is conducting an investigation about the operation of Bus No. 392 on Monday, Oct. 7, 2019. The safety of our students and staff is always a priority, and we are thankful that no students were on board the bus at the time of the incident. Our investigation is being conducted in accordance with Board of Education policies and state personnel laws. And as such, it is a confidential personnel matter.”
