A powerful new exhibition opens July 9
Before the Season Launch Party begins, visitors are invited to celebrate the opening of a brand-new exhibition from 5-6:30 p.m.
Co-curated by Francene Green and Michelle Willis, "Flat Footed Truths: Stories of Lived Experiences" is a juried quilt exhibition featuring quilts and fiber art that depict the soul-stirring, truth-telling, and compelling stories of African American women.
This exhibit is named and influenced by the book written by Patricia Bell-Scott, "Flat Footed Truths: Telling Black Women's Lives." These stories and the truths they tell come to life in this exhibit.
Get ready for some laughs
The Cabarrus Arts Council is also excited to partner with The Comedy Zone to bring some humor to the Davis Theatre in the coming year.
Audiences can look forward to an evening with comedian Tommy Davidson on Aug. 20 and Mike Goodwin on Dec. 18, with additional performers to be announced soon.
These comedy events are separate from the Davis Theatre Season and will be sold as individual tickets. Individual tickets will be available beginning at the Season Launch Party, giving attendees the first chance to secure their seats.
Whether you're looking forward to a new theatre season, a meaningful art exhibition, or a good belly laugh, July 9 promises to be an exciting evening celebrating the arts in Cabarrus County. Be sure to RSVP and join the fun!
