The city of Concord honored 170 employees for their combined 2,125 years of service to the city of Concord at the annual Service Awards ceremony. The annual celebration is a time for city leaders to recognize the dedication of employees who have served the city for at least five years. Service awards are given out in five-year increments, and this year five employees reached their 30-year milestone, one celebrated 30-years of service, and another was recognized for 40-years of dedicated service to the city of Concord.
At the ceremony, Mayor Steve Morris, Council Member Terry Crawford, and City Manager Lloyd Payne thanked employees for their hard work and dedication to the community.
The employees exemplify the city's mission to enhance residents' quality of life through excellent service and upholding the organization's core values of accountability, communication, and teamwork, according to a news release from the city.
