Holiday closures and Bunny Run 5K & Festival information
City of Concord government offices will be closed on Friday, April 3, for Good Friday. The annual Bunny Run 5K & Festival will take place on Saturday, April 4, on McCachern Boulevard in downtown Concord from 8-11 a.m.
The festival is free and open to everyone to attend and enjoy music, food, kids’ activities, and a special appearance from the Easter Bunny! During the event, McCachern Boulevard will be closed to through traffic, and road closures will be in effect on Union Street South and Corban Avenue on Saturday morning to accommodate the Bunny Run 5K race route.

Holiday schedule for Concord services
• Garbage, Recycling, Bulky, and Yard Waste collection will operate on a regular schedule.
• Rider Transit will be open and operate on a regular schedule.
• City Recreation Centers will be open Friday from 12-6 p.m. The David Phillips Activity Center will be closed.
• ClearWater Arts Center & Studios will be closed Friday.
• ClearWater Ceramics Center will be open 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday.
• Lake Fisher will be open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday.
Bunny Run 5K & FestivalÂ
On Saturday, April 4, the annual Bunny Run 5K & Festival will kick off at 8 a.m., with the free 1-mile fun run beginning at 8:30 a.m., followed by the 5K race.
There is still time to register for the Bunny Run 5K! Online registration is available through Saturday with additional opportunities to register in person the day of the race. No cash payments will be accepted on race day.
The festival will take place along McCachern Boulevard from 8-11 a.m. and features face-painting, inflatables, music, arts and crafts, food trucks, and dancing with the Easter Bunny. The festival is free to attend.
Event road closures
Road closures to accommodate the event will begin at 7 a.m. on Saturday, April 4. During the event, McCachern Boulevard between Cabarrus Avenue and Means Avenue will be closed to through traffic. Businesses on McCachern Boulevard, including the U.S. Post Office, will remain accessible via Means Avenue, however, motorists will be allowed to make a right turn only from Means Avenue onto McCachern Boulevard.
For the safety of all participants, both lanes of Union Street South between Corban Avenue and Tribune Avenue will be closed from approximately 7:30-10 a.m. Additionally, no parking on either side of Union Street South between Corban Avenue and Tribune Avenue will be permitted starting at 6 a.m., and towing will be enforced.

Cabarrus offices closed Friday; parks open
Cabarrus County Government offices will close on Friday, April 3, in observance of Good Friday.
This includes the Cabarrus County Government Center, Human Services Center Construction and Demolition Landfill, Household Hazardous Waste Recycling Center, Veterans Services Office, Board of Elections Office, the Animal Shelter, LunchPlus Clubs and all libraries and active living centers.
All Cabarrus County parks will follow their normal operating schedule on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
The Construction and Demolition Landfill will reopen on Saturday, April 4, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
All Cabarrus County libraries and active living centers in Concord, Mount Pleasant and Afton Ridge will reopen on Saturday, April 4, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Republic Services curbside garbage and recyclable collections for residents in unincorporated parts of Cabarrus County will operate normally.
The Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners Work Session that typically falls on the first Monday of the month will move to Tuesday, April 7, at 5 p.m.

Kannapolis holiday schedules
City of Kannapolis offices will be closed Friday, April 3, in observance of the Easter Holiday. Offices will reopen on Monday, April 6.
Garbage and recycling services will operate on a regular schedule. However, there will be no yard waste collection on Friday. It will be collected on a regular schedule the following week.
