Here are some photos from previous hop to the Movies in
Harrisburg. This year it will be April 2.
TOWN OF HARRISBURG
The annual Harrisburg Hop to the Movie is just one month away. Join the town of Harrisburg on Thursday, April 2, at Harrisburg Park, 191 Sims Parkway, for a fun-filled evening the whole family will love.
The event kicks off at 6:30 p.m. with craft activities, games, food trucks and visits with the Easter Bunny before we roll the big screen under the stars.
And this year's feature film is "Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway!"
Gas prices have spiked across North Carolina after the U.S.-Israeli attack on Iran over the weekend.
The average price of regular gas rose 15 cents overnight to $2.91 a gallon, according to AAA. The average diesel price is up nearly 18 cents, to $3.75 a gallon.
Nationwide, the average cost of a gallon of regular gas topped $3 for the first time since the week of Thanksgiving.
The increases reflect a sharp rise in the price of oil. The price of West Texas Intermediate crude rose $10 a barrel between Friday and Tuesday morning in response to the uncertainty in global energy markets.
Iran is a major producer of oil. But the larger concern is the Strait of Hormuz, the passage in and out of the Persian Gulf on Iran's southern border, said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at the website GasBuddy.com. Twenty percent of the world's oil supply moves through the strait, De Haan said, and vessels fearing attacks from Iran are now hesitant to pass.
De Haan said he expects the United States and oil-producing nations in the region to try to secure the gulf and get ships moving again.
"If that happens, it likely would lead to an improvement in the price of oil," he said Monday. "Confidence is the name of the game when it comes to the Strait of Hormuz. Nobody really has confidence right now to transit through the strait, and that's why oil prices are reacting."

Man killed by hit-and-run driver
A 29-year-old woman is on the run after being involved in a multi-vehicle crash that killed a figure in the region's custom-built racecar industry, according to investigators in Rowan County.
The crash happened when a car collided with four motorcycles around 10:45 p.m. on Feb. 20, Salisbury police said in a March 2 news release. One of the bikers, 54-year-old Jody Holloman, suffered fatal injuries.
Holloman was a foreman at ButlerBuilt Professional Seat Systems, which designs and builds custom aluminum seats for asphalt, dirt, road racing and drag racing, the company reported in a Facebook post.
"The preliminary investigation determined that a white Toyota Corolla ... turned left onto Airport Road from South Main Street and entered the path of four motorcycles traveling southbound on South Main Street," police said.
"Jody Holloman ... was pronounced deceased at the scene. One motorcyclist sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Another motorcyclist suffered minor injuries."
Identities of the injured bikers have not been released.
Three people "exited the vehicle and fled the scene on foot" after the crash, and Travita Garcia Diaz has been identified as one of the three, police said. She is also wanted on "outstanding, unrelated warrants for identity theft and two counts of possessing a fraudulent identification," detectives said.
An obituary reports Holloman lived in China Grove, and was a father and grandfather. He was a welder by trade, and worked as a shop manager for ButlerBuilt Professional Seat Systems in Concord.

Missing Tennessee girl found in Stoneville
A North Carolina man is facing a felony child abduction charge after deputies discovered he was living with a girl reported missing in west Tennessee, according to investigators.
A tip provided by the Shelby County Sheriff's Office in Memphis led deputies to the girl's location, the Rockingham County Sheriff's Office said in a March 2 news release.
"Deputies ... were able to locate the missing female juvenile (in) Stoneville, NC. The juvenile was accompanied by 27-year-old male Dakota Wayne Vettor of the same address," the sheriff's office said.
"The juvenile was placed into the custody of the Rockingham County Department of Social Services until the parents of the juvenile could come pick their daughter up."
Stoneville is about a 670-mile drive northeast from Memphis.
Court documents report the girl vanished from her parents' home Saturday, Feb. 28, and was reported missing the next day.
How she got to Vettor's home was not revealed. The drive is about 10 hours.
Vettor was arrested and is being held without bond, officials said. His first court appearance is March 10.
"This matter is still under investigation at this time by both the Rockingham County Sheriff's Office and the Shelby County Sheriff's Office in Tennessee. More charges are expected," the sheriff's office said.
