By providing proper support – especially to shirts and jackets – you’ll ensure that clothes won’t get stretched out, which can ensure that they’ll fit better longer and even help reduce wear and tear that might occur from stretching.

Wear the right clothing for the job

It might seem obvious, but one way to reduce trips to the dry cleaner and keep your clothes in great shape longer is to wear appropriate attire for every activity. If you’re preparing to do a dirty job, like mowing the lawn or washing the car, change into something you won’t mind getting dirty. Coming home from a long day at the office to cook dinner? Make sure to wear an apron or, better yet, change out of your work clothes prior to cooking your meal. Getting some cooking oil on a pair of yoga pants is much less costly than ruining your favorite pair of professional slacks!
