The Hickory Ridge High School varsity Swim & Dive team delivered a historic performance at the Greater Metro 6A/7A (GMAC) Conference Championships, with both the boys and girls teams finishing first overall. The night was especially memorable for the girls' program, which captured its first conference championship in school history, marking a milestone moment for the Ragin’ Bulls.
CHAPEL HILL — After more than three decades of service to education-based athletics in North Carolina, Que Tucker has announced she will retire as Commissioner of the North Carolina High School Athletic Association, effective Oct. 1.
The Central Cabarrus Vikings made the championship game in the F&M Bank Cannon Ballers Invitational High School Baseball tournament, thanks in large part to their offense. They averaged 10 runs a game through their first two games in the tournament. South Rowan, their opponent in the final, was even better, averaging over 13 runs a game. So, naturally, the championship game was a pitcher’s duel.

In the girls' championships earlier last week, Mount Pleasant Bailey Nimer won third place in the 1-4A 120 category.
