The city of Concord is introducing a new way for residents to easily report non-emergency issues like potholes, street sign damage, streetlights that are out and more. The new Concord Click-2-Fix is a free online reporting tool that replaces the former Concord Mobile Care application.
Cabarrus County Commissioners will hold their monthly regular meeting Tuesday, Feb. 17, at the Cabarrus County Government Center in downtown Concord.

KANNAPOLIS – Kristin Jones, the current City of Kannapolis Budget and Strategy Director, has been appointed as an Assistant City Manager. As an Assistant City Manager, she will guide the operations of the Finance, Budget, Human Resources and Customer Service Departments.
“Her experience in budgeting offers a strong foundation in aligning fiscal responsibility with the City’s long-range strategic and operational goals,” said Kannapolis City Manager Wilmer Melton.
The 17-day early voting period runs Feb. 12 to Feb. 28.
Wilmer Melton will officially assume the role of Kannapolis city manager on Jan. 12.
CONCORD – Ian Patrick was officially sworn in as a Cabarrus County Commissioner on Monday. He joins Jeff Jones, Laura Blackwell Lindsey, Larry Pittman, and Kenny Wortman on the five-person board.
In an organizational meeting held after the swearing in and prior to starting the December Regular Meeting, commissioners elected Lindsey as chair. Patrick was elected vice-chair.
The city also recognized and thanked retiring Mayor Bill Dusch and councilman J.C. McKenzie.
Cabarrus County Commissioners heard a report about school finances and was scheduled to swear in Ian Patrick as a commissioner Monday.

Midland voters elected their first African American town council member as a long-serving member was defeated. Isaac Davis was the leading vote-getter, followed by Mike Tallent, who was reelected.

KANNAPOLIS - Kannapolis City Council members Dianne Berry and Jeanne Dixon were elected to new four-year terms, and two newcomers will join them.
Isaiah Payne also appears to have won a four-year team, coming in third in the race. Dixon received the most votes with 2,960 votes, while Berry totaled 2,877, and Payne 2,258.
