Celebrate new Little Free Library in Kannapolis
FROM STAFF REPORTS
This is the newest Little Free Library in the area.
CITY OF KANNAPOLIS
A new Little Free Library has been added to downtown Kannapolis, and city officials are inviting the community to celebrate its arrival with a family-friendly event this weekend.
The city will host a "Reading Buddy" program from 1-3 p.m. Saturday at the Outdoor Reading Room, located near the Pump House restrooms. During the event, children of all ages can build a stuffed bear to take home as a reading companion.
The Little Free Library is designed as a shared community resource where residents and visitors can take a book, leave a book and help foster a love of reading. The concept encourages participants to borrow a title they'll enjoy, return it or pass it along when finished, and donate books to keep the collection growing.
City officials say the library is intended to serve as a welcoming space for neighbors, families and friends to gather, connect and celebrate literacy together.
The Little Free Library is now open to the public in downtown Kannapolis.
