Before the COVID pandemic, a textile artist taught a class on the art of Batik at the Cabarrus Art Guild. Batik is an Indonesian technique of wax-resist dyeing applied to cloth.
The golden anniversary is special, and in 2020 the Cabarrus Art Guild made it to theirs, celebrating all of its 50 years with the usual fanfare of exhibitions, demonstrations and special events – all in-person gatherings.
The Cabarrus Art Guild celebrated its 50th anniversary at an in-person gallery art show, pre-COVID.
The Cabarrus Art Guild hosted artist Sharron Burns last month for a free Zoom demonstration. Burns showed her techniques and approach to painting glass with watercolor as her medium. Zoom demonstrations are free and open to members and nonmembers. The next one is March 14. Go to www.CabarrusArtGuild.org for more information.
