“We’re at a place where we need to move beyond our simplistic, binary thinking, like ‘I’m good, you’re bad,’” artist Joan E. Gardner said. “It’s very nuanced, everything is tied together.”
Nicholas Fuqua played the role of Mary Sunshine, the sensationalist reporter known for their piercing high notes and satirical charm.
Costume designer Paul Tazewell found nurturing at the UNC School of the Arts and is thankful for work on Broadway and seeing his work onto the big screen.
Concord Academy took two awards at the 12th Annual Blumey Awards for high school musicals. Several Cabarrus areas schools were part of the awards program.
All the students who participated in the competition were given prize bags with art supplies and the winners also received a gift card.
The installation of the sculptures took place Wednesday and Thursday, just in time to make weekend plans to visit downtown Concord and check out the new public art.
