Artists and workers installed the million-dollar "Invasive Hope" public art project along Peters Creek Parkway in downtown Winston-Salem late Wednesday night and early Thursday morning. That section of the highway was closed for several hours while the work was being done. The display is being paid for by funds that were part of a bond package approved by voters in 2018. The money for the project must go toward public art along the parkway, which reopened in 2020 after an overhaul of a 1.2-mile stretch through downtown.
