It's the latest bizarre incident in Kennedy's quixotic campaign that has divided his famous family and left Republicans and Democrats alike concerned about his potential impact on the presidential contest.
The move would have once seemed unthinkable for Kennedy, a Democrat for most of his life and a member of a beloved Democratic dynasty.
Robert F. Kennedy said Friday he is suspending his independent presidential bid and is backing Donald Trump.
The ruling comes a day before absentee ballots are slated to be sent to voters who requested them.
Kathleen Kennedy said when she was 6, her dad learned a dead whale washed ashore. He used a chainsaw to cut off and retrieve its head.
New polling shows Republicans hold a positive view of Robert F. Kennedy Jr., but recent polling shows Americans overall are less positive. Also, there isn’t broad support for some of his views.
"Nothing is going to be off limits," he said Tuesday, speaking for the first time to thousands of U.S. Health and Human Services agency employees.
Kennedy was shot and killed June 5, 1968, at the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles moments after giving a speech.
Kennedy's decision to "retire" the previous 17-member panel was widely decried by doctors' groups and public health organizations.
