At the corner of George Liles Parkway and Poplar Tent Road in Afton Village sits McGill Baptist Church. The property also includes a community garden and the county’s first church-based daycare.

The McGill youth works a swim and Bible school camp in Helena-West Helena, Arkansas each summer. It is part of a rural poverty initiative for the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship. This is the group before they left in July. Ronald Hartsell/Special to the Independent Tribune
