Traffic woes at Concord Mills

The Concord Police Department closed three entrances to Concord Mills at one point Friday to try to help traffic flow, which badly snarled with the heavy volume of shoppers.

Officials had asked shoppers to avoid the three entrances closest to I-85, but most didn’t appear to follow the request leading the shut-downs. Social media is filled with posts about being stuck in traffic for hours.

Other than traffic no major issues were reported. There were several minor traffic accident all around the Bruton Smith/Concord Mills Boulevard exit of I-85.

That was not the case at Carolina Place Mall in Pineville. According to a story in The Charlotte Observer, Carolina Place was placed on lockdown after a fight broke out Friday.
