Green, Ronald Douglas

CONCORD Ronald Douglas Green, 74, of Concord, passed away July 8, 2016, at CHS-NorthEast. He was born Aug. 26, 1941, in Cabarrus County, the son of the late Floyd Franklin "Bud" Green and Ruth Wike Green. Ron was a veteran of the U.S. Navy for 4 years and then joined the U.S. Coast Guard where he retired after a total of 23 years of service. He then worked and retired from American Express Company. Ron was a member of Kannapolis West A Church of God. He was an avid golfer. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, July 10, at Kannapolis West A Church of God officiated by Dr. Greg Sloop. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m., Sunday prior at church. Burial will be Tuesday, July 12, at the National Cemetery in Salisbury with military rites. He is survived by his wife, Dottie Baskins Green; five children, James Lynn Goodman, William Michael Green, Kimberly Michelle Green, Douglas Floyd Green, Keith Erwin Green; 12 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; two sisters, Linda Poole of Seneca, S.C., Jenny Wallace of China Grove; and brother, Bruce Mann of Kannapolis.
