Allison, Leonard Earl

CONCORD Leonard Allison, 86, of Concord, passed away Saturday, June 24, 2017, at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis. Leonard was born Sept. 5, 1930, to the late Earl and Ruth Allison. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Ray Allison. Leonard proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He enjoyed woodworking, camping and travel. He loved the mountains, the beach, and the Wolfpack. Leonard loved his grandsons most of all. He was a longtime member of Poplar Tent Presbyterian Church, Concord. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, June 28, at Poplar Tent Presbyterian Church, 6841 Poplar Tent Rd. in Concord, officiated by the Rev. Clark Remsburg. The family will receive friends at the church from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., prior to the service. Leonard will be laid to rest in the church cemetery immediately following the service. Survivors include beloved wife of 63 years, Nora Allison; son, Craig Allison; daughter, Pam Allison; three grandsons, Garrett Allison, Brandon Rushing and wife, Meagan, and Ryan Rushing; great-grandson, Marley Rushing; sister, Eva Justice; brother, Harold Allison; and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to Tucker Hospice House of Kannapolis or Poplar Tent Presbyterian Church Cemetery Fund. Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord is serving the Allison family.
