Caldwell, David Pinkney

CONCORD Mr. David Pinkney Caldwell, 65, passed away peacefully, with his family at his side, Friday, Aug. 16, 2019, at Tucker Hospice House. A graveside service with military honors will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 22, at Carolina Memorial Park, with the Rev. Edward Scott officiating. David was born Jan. 31, 1954, in Cabarrus County, a son of the late James Frell Caldwell Sr. and Miriam Benfield Caldwell. He was a 1972 graduate of Central Cabarrus High School, and the N.C. School of Broadcasting. He was a former DJ at WEGO radio station for five years, and then served our country in the U.S. Army, having been stationed in Germany. He was employed and retired from the U.S. Postal Service. David dearly loved his family and many friends. He was always upbeat, saw the positive side of things, and put others before himself. Those of us who were blessed to have known this wonderful man, will truly miss him. Left to cherish his memory is his sister, Ann C. Powlas of Faith; brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Martha Caldwell of Boone; niece, Amy Hartig; nephew, Brian Caldwell; five great-nieces and nephews; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
