CONCORD Earle Raymond Aube Sr., 90, peacefully passed away Monday, Jan. 21, 2019, at his home. Services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Jan. 25, at St. James the Greater Catholic Church. Father Jerome Chavarria, C.Ss.R., will officiate. Burial will follow at the church cemetery on Gold Hill Road. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 24, with a prayer service beginning at 7:40 p.m., at Wilkinson Funeral Home in Concord. Born Feb. 1, 1928, in Torrington, Conn., he was the oldest son of the late Alice Lefebvre Aube and Oliver Francis Aube Sr. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years, Cecilia Barnhardt Aube; and sister, Joan Aube Spivey. Earle was a veteran of the United States Army, 82nd Airborne. He retired from the United States Postal Service and was currently employed as an office assistant at NAPA Auto Parts in Mt. Pleasant. Earle is survived by his children, Carrie A. Nitz and husband, Tony, of Greensboro, Jean Clare Aube, Marilyn A. Burrage and husband, Richard, Margaret A. Frye and husband, Donnie, Earle R. Aube Jr. and wife, Linda, all of Concord; grandchildren, Aube B. Kies, Richard Burrage Jr., Gene Nitz, Christine N. Sexton, Mary N. Abbott, Joseph Nitz, Cissy Nitz, Tripper Frye, Hunter Frye, Molly Marie Frye, Connor Frye, Nora Frye, Earle R. Aube III, Reid Aube; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers, Oliver F. Aube Jr. and Arthur G. Aube; sister-in-law, Iris Barnhardt; and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. James the Greater Catholic Church, P.O. Box 123, Concord, NC 28026.
