CONCORD Dale E. Barbee, 69, passed away Friday, Feb. 8, 2019. He was born Nov. 2, 1949, to the late Clarence Eugene Barbee and Joyce Cook Barbee. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Joy Oliphant. Dale leaves behind his wife, Lori Barbee; his daughter, Heather Howie; his nephews, Kyle and Cameron Oliphant; nieces, Joyel and Allison Oliphant; brother-in-law, Gary Oliphant; stepfather, Kenneth Reeves; many friends and extended family. Dale was an avid Concord Spiders fan and fanatic Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He enjoyed all sports and sports photography. The family will receive friends Monday, Feb. 11, at Cold Water Baptist Church, Union Street in Concord from 12 to 2 p.m. The funeral service will begin at 2 p.m., officiated by Pastor Ken Reed. Burial will immediately follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis. The family will announce a celebration of life in his memory at a later date. Any memorials and donations can be made to Concord High School Athletic Booster Club, 481 Burrage Rd., Concord, NC 28025. Cabarrus Funeral Cremation & Cemetery of Concord is serving the Barbee family.
