Cline, Rex Gary

HARRISBURG Rex Gary Cline, 76, of Harrisburg, entered into the arms of His Savior Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2018. He was a son of the late Roy and Zelda Sechler Cline. Gary was a deacon and Sunday school teacher at Pitts Baptist Church for many years. He enjoyed being with his family, volunteer and mission work, going on adventures, traveling to the mountains, and studying his Bible. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Carolyn S. Cline; children, Dwayne and Pam Cline, Barak and Jennifer Cline, and Matt and Andrea Gioeli; grandchildren, Lindsey, Erika, Ailey, Cooper, Parker, Ashtyn, Madilynn, and Ridge; great-grandchildren, Joshua, Riley, Lezlie, Alyssa, Logan, Gavin, Easton, Brindley, and Harrison; brothers, James Cline (Sharon), Larry Cline (Anna), Leroy Cline (Glenda); and sister, Patsy Cline English (Jerry). He also is survived by many other family members. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., today (Friday, Feb. 23), at Hartsell Funeral Home of Harrisburg. The celebration of life service will be held Saturday, Feb. 24, at 1 p.m., at Pitts Baptist Church, 140 Pitts School Rd., Concord, NC 28027. Burial will follow in Gethsemane Memorial Gardens at 1504 W Sugar Creek Rd., Charlotte, NC 28262. Memorials may be made to Pitts Baptist Church, 140 Pitts School Rd., Concord, NC 28027.
