Eddie Duncan OCEAN ISLE BEACH Mr. Edward "Eddie" Glenn Duncan, 64, a longtime resident of Concord, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Ocean Isle Beach Tuesday, March 25, 2014. Eddie was born Jan. 16, 1950, in Mecklenburg County. He was the son of Ethel Vandeburg Duncan, of Charlotte and the late Austin E. Duncan. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Marion Harmon Duncan, in 2011. Eddie retired as a police officer with the Concord Police Department. He and his wife parented foster children for many years. He spent the last several years living out his dream at Ocean Isle Beach, where he enjoyed lots of fishing. In addition to his mother, survivors include his children, Laura Linker and husband, Steven, Scott Duncan and wife, Lya, Mikayla Duncan and John Duncan, all of Concord and Hope Jenson and husband, Gerald, of Marysville, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; sisters, Devonne Smith and Cyndi Deese; brothers, Gary and Dennis Duncan; and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Police Benevolent Fund, Cabarrus County FOP #64, P.O. Box 5302, Concord, NC 28027.
