David V. Honeycutt CONCORD Mr. David Vance Honeycutt Jr., 68, passed away at his home with his family by his side Tuesday, April 29, 2014. Services will be held on 2 p.m. today (Friday, May 2), at Wilkinson Funeral Home, with Pastor Jeff Bates officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. at Wilkinson Funeral Home. A family burial will be held at Carolina Memorial Park. David was born Cabarrus County Jan. 18, 1946. He was one of five children born to (late) David V. Sr. and Lilly Irene Deal Honeycutt. He graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1964. His life centered around his faith and family. He loved working in his yard and growing a garden. He proudly spent much of his time caring for his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, David Richard Honeycutt and brother, Danny Honeycutt. He is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 49 years, Martha Richards Honeycutt; sons, Patrick G. Honeycutt and wife, Cecilia and Kevin A. Honeycutt and wife, Donna, all of Concord; sisters, Gail Lott and husband, Rick, of Concord, Danita Lomax and husband, Brady, of Mt. Pleasant; brother, Larry Honeycutt and wife, Tammy, of Mt. Pleasant; and grandchildren, Dustin, Ayden, Devin, and Erin Honeycutt and Jaret and Coty Boggs. Rather than flowers, memorials may be made to either Elevation Church, 11416 E. Independence Blvd., Matthews NC 28105 or to Hospice of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis NC 28081. Condolences may be left at www.wilkinson funeralhome.com.
