Updated 2023 Heisman odds: Bo Nix enters weekend as favorite
The 2023 Heisman race isn’t like years past where one player’s prospects stood above and beyond the field. The final tally figures to reveal the winner of a tight vote.
Bo Nix Heisman odds: Oregon QB Heisman odds (-180 or better)
Nix is the conductor of 11-1 Oregon, who’s only blemish on the season is a 36-33 defeat at Washington. Among Nix’s impressive resume points is a pristine 37-to-2 touchdown-to-interception ratio – not to mention six more rushing scores.
Nix’s biggest game of the season – perhaps his career – awaits this weekend, a rematch against Washington for the Pac-12 title and potential trip to the College Football Playoff.
Jayden Daniels Heisman winner odds: LSU QB odds to win (+140 or better)
Daniels earned a spot among this season’s Heisman finalists thanks to a prolific season of production. He amassed 50 touchdowns, including 10 on the ground to complement his 4,946 total yards. He even caught a touchdown pass for good measure.
And for all of the gaudy production, Daniels only committed five turnovers while leading the Tigers to a 9-3 mark.
Michael Penix Jr. Heisman Trophy odds: Washington QB updated odds (+1600 or better)
Penix certainly appears to be the outsider among the three finalists. He trails Nix and Daniels statistically, taking 3,899 passing yards and 35 total touchdowns heading into the Pac-12 title game.
The feather in Penix’s cap is Washington’s 12-0 record and inside track to a final four spot. A win on Saturday will place the Huskies in position to compete for a national title, something that figures to be worth some Heisman votes.
Plus, beating Nix twice would certainly be hard to gloss over.

2023 Heisman picks: Daniels edges out the class
Daniels’ resume is complete, so his final line needs to be enough to impress the committee. And on paper, the statistical production is certainly prodigious. It’s reasonable to suggest the 2023 Heisman race is down to a two-man race between Nix and Daniels.
One school of thought suggests Daniels may need a little help considering LSU’s 9-3 mark compared to Oregon’s CFP-worthy 11-1 record. However, if Washington (+9.5) beats the Ducks for a second time this season, Nix will surrender what some may consider his most significant advantage over Daniels.
An undefeated Washington Huskies squad would theoretically shorten Penix’s odds, but there’s precedent of Heisman winners coming from teams without pristine records. And Daniels’ superior statistical output – against SEC competition – is difficult to overlook.
