The 151st British Open has arrived at Hoylake Royal Liverpool and near the top of the board is Jon Rahm, who leads the PGA Tour in wins and FedEx Cup points this season.
With the coveted Claret Jug on the line, the world No. 3 will be vying for his second major of the year and online sportsbooks are offering plenty for bettors to wager on this week.Â
2023 British Open prop bets: Best Jon Rahm odds, picks and props
Jon Rahm came out blazing this year with three PGA Tour wins by mid-February. He added a fourth at The Masters, but has come back down to earth a touch since then.
He’ll look to rekindle his early-season magic by capping off the year with his first British Open title. Check out our favorite Jon Rahm props for The Open at Hoylake.
British Open 3-ball picks: Jon Rahm (+160 or better) vs. Rory McIlroy and Justin Rose in Round 1
Jon Rahm hasn’t been getting the same headlines as earlier in the season, but the big man is still a threat in any tournament he enters. One of the highlights of Rahm’s game this year has been his play on par 3s.
The Spaniard has played the short ones at 15-under par on the season, second only to Max Homa (19-under). The cliff is steep after the top two, with Rickie Fowler and Aaron Baddeley a distant third at 9-under.
McIlroy has been solid at 2-under, and Justin Rose has played par 3s at 1-over par. The odds are likely inflated here because of McIlroy’s hot streak, but his par-3 play has been significantly weaker than Rahm's. We’ll take the value here.
Jon Rahm prop bets: Under 70.5 Round 1 score (-140 at FanDuel)
There’s more juice on this bet than we’d like, but Rahm’s first-round play has been too solid not to take the shot.
He’s posted three consecutive sub-71 first rounds and has hit this bet in 11 of 16 tournaments this year.
Rahmbo’s nailed the under on this number at two of the season’s previous majors, including a sizzling 65 at the Masters. The 28-year-old has a 68.33 round-one scoring average on the season, good for second on the PGA Tour.
Jon Rahm British Open odds: Rahm and Rory McIlroy Top 10 incl. ties (+275 at BetMGM)
There’s plenty to like about this bet considering Rahm and McIlroy both have nine top-10 finishes this season, ranking second on the PGA Tour.
McIlroy is currently in top form, coming off his second win of the year at the Genesis Scottish Open.
The Northern Irishman has racked up six straight top 10s and has absolutely crushed it at The Open over the years, with five T5 or better finishes in his previous seven British Open performances.
Rahm’s recent results haven’t been as flashy, but he’s still mustered three top-10s in his last seven tourneys.

British Open prop bets: Jon Rahm and Cameron Smith to finish in Top 5 incl. ties (+1600 at FanDuel)
If you’re going to take a long shot, why not pair up last year's British Open Champion and this year's Masters winner?
Rahm has seven top-five finishes this season (41%), with the last one coming at the Mexico Open at Vidanta.
Smith, a LIV golfer, has only played in PGA majors this year but finished fourth at last month’s U.S. Open. He's had mixed results in his five British Open appearances, but last year's win at St. Andrews is the only one that matters.
These two gamers have the pedigree to warrant a few bucks on a Hail Mary.
