Most popular Super Bowl bets 2024
These are the five most popular Super Bowl bets 2024:
- Patrick Mahomes Player Props: Over 1.5 passing touchdowns (-160 or better)
- Brock Purdy Player Props: Over 12.5 rushing yards (-125 or better)
- Travis Kelce Player Props: Over 6.5 receptions (-160 or better)
- Patrick Mahomes Player Props: Alternate passing yards over 225 (-270 or better)
- Brock Purdy Player Props: Over 0.5 interceptions (-125 or better)
As you can see, the most popular Super Bowl bets mainly have to do with the two quarterbacks, Patrick Mahomes props and Brock Purdy props. There is such a spotlight on these two players that it makes sense their player props would be the most bet on by the general public.
Patrick Mahomes Super Bowl props
It’s no surprise that Patrick Mahomes has two of the five most bet-on Super Bowl 2024 wagers. He’s one of the faces of the NFL, and while he hasn’t put up huge playoff stats so far, his past performances make him hard to bet against.
About 93% of bets and 96% of the handle is on Mahomes to throw more than 1.5 passing touchdowns. It is one of the most popular Super Bowl 58 bets. However, Mahomes has failed to cross that mark in two of the Chiefs’ three playoff games so far. Will you follow the money or the trend this year?
Also, 98% of the handle and 89% of bets are also on Mahomes’ longest completion to be at least 36.5 yards. He does have the ability to toss it long but has failed to reach that mark in each of his past two playoff games on this run.
A more evenly bet-on event is Mahomes passing completions (Over/Under 25.5); 60% of the handle and 69% of bets are on the Over. He has also broken that number just once on this playoff run.
Brock Purdy Super Bowl props
Leading the 49ers is quarterback Brock Purdy. Mr. Irrelevant has played really well since taking over the quarterback role for the 49ers and will now be tested on the biggest stage.
Bettors seem to think that Purdy will struggle a bit under the bright lights, as 95% of the handle and 81% of bets are on the quarterback to throw at least one interception. He threw 11 picks during the regular season this year.
One area where there is a large difference in the handle and ticket percentage is when it comes to Purdy passing touchdowns. While 68% of bets are on the Over, just 26% of the money is. This suggests that there could be some big players risking a lot of money on the Under.
Finally, bettors are relatively split (58% of handle to the Over and 42% to the Under) on if Purdy will throw for at least 247.5 yards. He has reached that mark in both playoff games thus far.
