Aggies quarterback Conner Weigman tossed five touchdown passes in Texas A&M’s season-opening 52-10 blowout win over New Mexico, and now A&M turns its attention to Miami in its effort to go 2-0. While they allowed just two sacks against New Mexico, the Aggies will be in for a tougher test against a tough Miami defensive front featuring defensive lineman Leonard Taylor III.
Expect the Aggies to again rely heavily on wide receiver Noah Thomas, who snared six receptions for 74 yards and three touchdowns over New Mexico.
Miami QB Tyler Van Dyke turned in an impressive line against Miami (OH), completing 17 of 22 passes for 201 yards, a touchdown and an interception.
Expect offensive coordinator Shannon Dawson to continue to try and push the ball downfield with an array of midrange passes, creating space in the run game for running back Henry Parrish Jr. to work. The Hurricanes racked up 250 yards on the ground against the RedHawks in Week 1.
