1997 A.L. Brown Wonders state champions inducted in Hall of Fame
The 1997 A.L. Brown Wonders football team, which won the 3A N.C. High School Athletic Association title, was inducted into the Cabarrus County Sports Hall of Fame in the Class of 2025 on Saturday, Dec. 6. This is the Hall of Fame plaque.
INDUCTION TODAY - Cabarrus County Sports Hall of Fame set to induct 14 people, seven championship teams
The Cabarrus County Sports Hall of Fame is officially back and will induct athletes and teams at a ceremony Saturday, Dec. 6, at the Cabarrus Arena & Events Center. It will be the first induction since the COVID-19 pandemic.
Former inductees, family members, supporters and guests are invited to arrive at 4:30 p.m. and enter through the Main Lobby doors of the Cabarrus Room. The Cabarrus Room is the new home for the Hall of Fame.
The Cabarrus County Sports Hall of Fame will induct 14 people and seven teams into the hall of fame at the Cabarrus Area & Events Center in ceremonies Saturday, Dec. 6, at 5 p.m.
The Cabarrus County Sports Hall of Fame is back. "After several years away, we are excited to return and celebrate the athletes, coaches, and contributors who have made a lasting impact on sports in our community," the hall posted on its Facebook page Thursday. "We look forward to welcoming the Class of 2025 inductees to our new home at the Cabarrus Arena & Events Center this December."

Cabarrus Sports Hall of Fame adding 13 athletes, coaches and 2 teams
A former Major League Baseball pitcher, a former NFL player, outstanding coaches and players and two championship teams are among this year’s inductees to the Cabarrus County Sports Hall of Fame.
Thirteen people and two teams are set for induction at the Saturday, Oct. 28, ceremony at the Boys & Girls Club of Cabarrus County in Concord. The program gets starts at 5 p.m. and is free and open to the public.

CONCORD, N.C. – The Cabarrus County Sports Hall of Fame will welcome its sixth class of members during a ceremony on Saturday at the Boys & Girls Club of Cabarrus County. The induction is set to begin at 5 p.m.
The class of 12 inductees is the second-largest in the history of the Hall of Fame. Only the 2013 class of 13 honorees was bigger.
Cabarrus Sports Hall of Fame inducts seven new members
CONCORD, N.C. - The Cabarrus County Sports Hall of Fame inducted seven new members in a ceremony at the Boys & Girls Club of Cabarrus County Thursday, Oct. 22.
Hall of Fame member Coach EZ Smith introduced the new members to the audience of about 150 people.
CONCORD – The 2013 induction class for the Cabarrus County Sports Hall of Fame will feature 13 new members headed by NASCAR legend Dale Earnhardt, three former NFL players and an Olympic medal winner.
“This is a great class of inductees,” said Tony McClamrock, who heads up the Cabarrus County Sports Hall of Fame committee. “We’ve been able to get great people who represent all areas of the county.”

CONCORD – A member of the U.S. Olympic team, probably North Carolina’s greatest amateur wrestling promoter and a great boxer highlight the 2014 induction class of nine to the Cabarrus County Sports Hall of Fame.
Hall of fame Chairman Tony McClamrock said the 2014 class features outstanding athletes who have made lasting impacts on the community beyond athletics. They were chosen from many outstanding nominations.
Inaugural class inducted into Cabarrus Sports Hall of Fame
For nearly a decade, Tony McClamrock has envisioned creating a sports Hall of Fame that would highlight the community’s best athletes. His vision became a reality Thursday as the inaugural class of the Cabarrus County Sports Hall of Fame was inducted.
“Just about every county in North Carolina has a sports Hall of Fame and we all know there are some great athletes that have come out of Cabarrus County, and some who are still playing in Cabarrus County,” McClamock said.
The Cabarrus County Sports Hall of Fame will mark a milestone moment Saturday, May 9, as it unveils its new permanent “Wall of Fame” exhibit during a special ceremony at the Cabarrus Arena and Events Center.
The event is scheduled for Saturday in the arena’s main lobby at 4759 NC 49, Concord. Guests are invited to arrive at 2:30 p.m., with the ceremony beginning promptly at 3 p.m.
