Senior Deputy Claudette Camille of the Cabarrus County Sheriff's Office, in a Crime-Stoppers Program last week, shared practical tips for-citizens to better protect themselves and their loved ones through simple safety best practices. Her presentation focused on personal safety strategies to help prevent victimization and crime.
Topics included the importance of situational awareness, being mindful of your surroundings at all times, and recognizing unusual activity, patterns or routines within your community. Residents were encouraged to report suspicious activity through Cabarrus CrimeStoppers or by submitting a tip directly to the sheriff's office, with the option to remain anonymous.
"We appreciate the opportunity to empower our community with the knowledge and awareness needed to help prevent crime and keep Cabarrus County safe," the Cabarrus Sheriff's Office posted on Facebook. "Thank you to the West Cabarrus YMCA for hosting this presentation."
