Carolina Renaissance Festival to hold job fair for seasonal workers

The joust is always one of the most popular parts of the
Carolina Renaissance Festival, which begins Oct. 3.

The Carolina Renaissance Festival will hold a job fair Sept. 12 as it looks to hire hundreds of seasonal employees ahead of its 33rd season.
The job fair will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, at the festival grounds, 16445 Poplar Tent Road on the Cabarrus-Mecklenburg county line.
The festival hires about 350 seasonal employees each year for a range of positions, including serving food and drinks and greeting guests. Seasonal jobs pay $14 to $18 an hour, according to festival organizers, and employees receive free festival admission to share with friends and family.

“It is an opportunity to earn extra income with pride as you help contribute to the magic and merriment enjoyed by all ages at the Festival,” Matt Siegel, the festival’s director of marketing and entertainment, said in a news release.
Prospective employees can apply online or attend the job fair to move through the hiring process. Applicants attending the fair should be prepared to provide documents showing they are authorized to work in the United States. Resumes are encouraged but are not required for most positions.
The Carolina Renaissance Festival will run Saturdays and Sundays from Oct. 3 through Nov. 22. The annual event combines outdoor theater, circus performances, arts and crafts, jousting and food in a Renaissance-themed setting.
