The Kaplans — Rob and Kristen and their children Will, Caroline, Daisy and Cora — sold their house in Midlothian and took possession of their boat, Changing Course, in Florida on March 31, 2021, which was move-in day as well as Kristen Kaplan’s birthday. Rachel Connolly, a family friend, traveled with them for the first five months of their adventure.
The Kaplans’ 70-foot trawler, Changing Course, cruises not much faster than a sailboat. The 35-year-old boat was perfect for slowing down and enjoying the journey.
