Charles Carter has a BS in Textile Chemistry from N.C. State University and an MBA from the University of Missouri. His work career includes being an account manager for a national brokerage firm, a systems acquisition manager for the U.S. Air Force, and a contract negotiator and contract manager for a multinational bank involving the purchase of multimillion dollar systems, products, and services. Mr. Carter was born and raised in Kannapolis. He recently retired and continues to live in Kannapolis.
In recent months, the newspaper has published several articles about Kannapolis’ $7.5 million purchase of downtown properties for purposes of downtown revitalization. Since I started tracking the revitalization effort, I’ve come to realize the $7.5 million purchase is only a drop in the bucket compared to the additional and expensive revitalization investments/expenses the city is contemplating.
