Meet the Moore family: rooted in a shared sense of family
For the Moore family, Catawba Valley Health System is more than a workplace. It is a place where their family’s roots have grown over decades, connected by a shared commitment to caring for others.
Patti Moore began her career at Catawba Valley Health System 34 years ago. Today, she serves as a wellness dietitian in the Health 4 Us Department. More than three decades after joining the organization, Patti’s connection to CVHS remains strong—and over the years, her family has become part of the CVHS story as well.

Five years ago, Patti’s husband, Jeff Moore, joined the organization. Today, he serves as director of nutrition care. More recently, their daughter-in-law, Rebecca Moore, joined the CVHS family and has spent more than a year serving patients as a registered nurse in the Day Surgery Department.
Although each family member has followed a different professional path, they have found the same thing at Catawba Valley Health System: a genuine sense of family.
“My family’s roots at Catawba Valley Health System run deep,” Patti shared. “What brought each of us to Catawba was the same thing that has kept us here—a genuine sense of family.”
From the very beginning, Patti said, CVHS has felt like a place where people truly care for one another—whether caring for patients, supporting coworkers, or serving the community.
Being able to share that experience as a family has made the Moore family’s connection to CVHS even stronger.
“We support and encourage one another, take pride in the work we do, and appreciate being part of an organization that values compassion, teamwork, and service,” Patti shared.
For Patti, Jeff, and Rebecca, working at the same organization creates a special connection that extends beyond family gatherings and shared stories. Each understands the challenges and rewards of working in health care and the importance of the mission they share.
“It’s special to work in a place where caring for people isn’t just a job—it’s a way of life,” Patti said.
The Moore family’s story is a reminder that the connections built at Catawba Valley Health System can extend far beyond the workplace. When employees find a culture rooted in compassion and service, they naturally want to share that experience with the people they love.
