SALISBURY — Rowan-Cabarrus Community College will add a new Plumbing Certificate program to its skilled trades offerings beginning in fall 2026, giving students a one-year pathway into the plumbing profession.
The 17-credit certificate is designed to prepare students for entry-level jobs in residential, commercial and industrial plumbing through a combination of classroom instruction and hands-on training.
Students will learn foundational plumbing skills while gaining experience with the tools, materials and techniques used in the industry. Coursework includes Modern Plumbing A and B, Blueprint Reading for Construction, OSHA 30-Hour Construction and Plumbing Diagrams.
Classes will be held at the Cabarrus Business and Technology Center in Concord.
"The launch of our Plumbing Certificate reflects our continued investment in hands-on training that supports essential industries," Rowan-Cabarrus President Dr. Carol S. Spalding said in a news release. "Skilled trades like plumbing play a critical role in our communities, and this certificate prepares students to enter the field with confidence."

College officials said graduates will be prepared to seek employment in residential, commercial and industrial plumbing, fields that continue to see demand for skilled workers. The college said the program can lead to careers offering competitive wages, opportunities for advancement and long-term job stability.
