                Concord, Kannapolis, Harrisburg enact mandatory water restrictions starting May 15

                CONCORD — The cities of Concord and Kannapolis will move to Level 2 mandatory water restrictions beginning Friday, May 15, as drought conditions persist across Cabarrus and Rowan counties.

                City officials said the restrictions, coordinated with regional partners, are necessary to protect the area’s water supply by reducing nonessential use. While some rainfall occurred earlier this week, it has not been enough to offset ongoing dry conditions.
