A couple of years ago a columnist asked his readers to define the holidays using one word. He was careful to be politically correct by using “Holidays” rather than “Christmas.” As I read the responses it was evident those who answered took the prerogative to interpret the question as pertaining to Christmas. I prefer to think the heart of the columnist was in the right place, but might have been merely following the rules set by the establishment.
