Milagros Perez is a retired NYPD Police Sergeant with twenty-one years of service. She was present in New York City during the 9/11 terrorist attacks and was part of the search and rescue recovery teams. She now suffers from breathing difficulties having been present at Ground Zero after the twin towers collapsed. She’s currently attaining a Master’s in Social Work Degree and hopes to become a Clinical Social Worker. Her dream is to spend the rest of her life helping those less fortunate. She has three children and five wonderful grandchildren.
