This year my wife, Barbara, and I volunteered as workers in the Vacation Bible School at River Rock at Odell Church in Concord. We were assigned as teachers for the Third through Fifth Graders. We had taught in Vacation Bible School on mission trips to South Africa about 15 years ago, but now in our eighties and seventies, it was quite a stretch for us. The organizers for the VBS knew what they were doing when they gave us Mike and Debbie Royster to assist in the activities and discipline. They had much more energy than we and had a great relationship with the kids. You could say they were a God send.
