I was talking to someone recently who was telling me how often their pastor had been preaching about giving to the church. I told her that most of the time pastors attempt to stay away from the subject of giving in the church, because it is such a controversial subject among church members. Yet, every member must understand it takes money to run the church and the Biblical answer is that God’s people are responsible for supplying funds to keep it going. “’Will a man rob God? Yet you have robbed Me! But you say, ‘In what way have we robbed You?’ In tithes and offerings. You are cursed with a curse. For you have robbed Me. Even this whole nation.’ Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be food in My house. Now try Me in this,‘ Says the Lord of Host, ‘If I will not open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you such blessing That there will not be room enough to receive it’”,(Mal. 3:8-10,NKJV).
