Emcee (and Dancing for the Arts 2016 alumnus) Brian Floyd filled the audience with plenty of belly laughs throughout the show. We think Brian might have missed his calling as a standup comic.
Once the show was over, it was the audience’s turn to grove at the Dancing for the Arts After Party.
Last Saturday Dancing for the Arts 2018 took the stage, and just like its three predecessors, it accomplished its two important goals: to entertain its audience and to raise funds for the Cabarrus Arts Council.
By day Dr. Mark Redding is a neurosurgeon. By night he’s a dancing mad scientist. Mark teamed up with professional dancer Glenna Wilson to win the Grand Championship title. Grand total raised by Mark: $8,757. Photo courtesy of Cabarrus Arts Council
Star Julie Hartsell and professional dancer Christopher Davis’ performance brought a roar of applause from the audience, earning the People’s Choice award for Dancing for the Arts 2018. Photos courtesy of Cabarrus Arts Council
Retired Concord City Manager Brian Hiatt and professional dancer Tiffany Lassiter owned the dance floor, surprising a lot of Brian’s former colleagues.
Dancing for the Arts 2018 Chairs Ann Schrader and Dean Wike had their moment on the Davis Theatre stage after months of working tirelessly behind-the-scenes for the event.
